Plan C was "taxi." Taxi fares were so astoundingly cheap that a taxi for the group was a pretty reasonable alternative for was was expected to be a six hour trip. It was about a hundred bucks or so. The drivers were, er, creative in their technique, so this roadside scene wasn't entirely unexpected, albeit a little disquieting. We'd considered renting a car, but not very seriously, and after seeing what traffic was like, that was definitely the right decision.
